Definitions.
Abstract Art-A painting or sculpture that does not depict a person, place or thing in the natural world.
Non-objective Art-does not contain a recognizable subject. Rather, the artist manipulates the elements of art (color, shape, line, form, space, value, texture)
Non-Representational Art- An artwork that does not represent or depict a being, place or thing in the natural world.
Abstract Expressionism-
an artistic movement of the mid-20th century comprising diverse styles and techniques and emphasizing especially an artist's liberty to convey attitudes and emotions through nontraditional and usually nonrepresentational means
